You can't just write some kind of magical software which unlocks a digital release at the stroke of midnight. Oh, no wait you totally can. I was thinking of something else sorry.
It's a bit silly to wait around for when someone else deems it to actually be April 21st when we have a system of time which already does that for us but alas people still purchase horse armor and gamerpics so don't think that we've got this whole digital distribution thing down just yet.
It should be solid code and automated and secure and flexible but it would seem, sadly, that that is not always so. These services are very powerful and very cool but a lot of the things which you'd think you'd be able to do and/or have control over actually don't allow for any futzing. (and I'm talking Steam, Impulse, D2D, Xbox Live, WiiWare, PSN, GoG, etc..) For the most part, the majority of the control is in their hands.
Each service has its own unique problems but it would seem that almost all them lack the understanding that the internet is a 24 hour place and we'd like whatever we seek instantly if not sooner.
Anywho, what's that arbitrary time again? 11am PDT? That'll be just fine...I'll grab some lunch first.
Looks great guys. Can't wait!
