Apparently nobody ever thought that the texts at the throne/temple at the end of the world meant anything, so I am creating this...
Cryptography Challenge! The texts in gold and stone letters are not gibberish, they are just in a different kind of alphabet... The texts do have a bit more of information about the Golem, including his name. When his name is discovered I will upload early Golem unreleased concept art. Maybe there are some people out there who like this kind of difficult challenge like me, but if after some time this "puzzle" proves to be too difficult, I will give some hints. Maybe this game works better as a collaborative effort where you post your early discoveries it in this thread... let's see what happens! --------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE Congratulations! The name has been discovered and I have uploaded the concept art. You can find it at this thread, or in our image gallery: http://forums.aceteam.cl/index.php?autocom...um&album=15 |

Someone, take a screenshot of the inscriptions, and post it here. From there, we can translate them all. And we won't have to run about, translating amid the attacks of in game enemies.
As a group, with all the inscriptions posted here, this shouldn't be extremely hard. -------------------- Zeno Clash is remarkable. ...remarkable is an odd word. 'Remark' 'able'. We take it to mean 'great' or 'fabulous', but all the word means is that the noun it describes can be remarked upon. What is those are BAD remarks? ... Sometimes I have trouble sleeping at night.

I've skimmed over many ancient alphabets from Akkadian to Zapotec. Am I looking in the wrong place?

Just to help you not get stuck looking in encyclopedias... it is not a pre-existing alphabet, it exists only in Zenozoik.

In the steam forums there are also people trying to figure this out...
http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/show...d=1#post9864896 I feel I must warn everyone there is an extra layer of difficulty: This is a phonetic alphabet. Every symbol corresponds to a sound, and not necessarily to a letter. In the alphabet I am writing in now, "e" can sound like "e" in "Elephant" or like "e" "eel". In the golems alphabet (a phonetic alphabet) the same symbol always has a similar sound. |

And the method we should first try is logical deduction. Find all the different symbols, then assign letters to each, based on logic. The most reappearing symbols would be vowels, obviously, and you can pick letters for other symbols that go with their vowel combinations. For example, if a symbol you guessed as 'A' was followed by a symbol you guessed as 'Z' you know immediately that the second symbol is not 'z'. [Unless the work Aztec is included in this inscription...] Then, translate it with your improvised alphabet. If we all try this once a day, with a new alphabet, and post what doesn't work, we should get it in a week or two.
If there is a better method, I'm all ears. EDIT: The developer posted at the same time I did... I've no idea what to do with a phonetic alphabet. -------------------- Zeno Clash is remarkable. ...remarkable is an odd word. 'Remark' 'able'. Oooh, I hadn't even noticed the lettering (how could I miss it? Frustration from the shadows?) I'm gonna look at this myself.
Me thinks, I see the word "bird" in there... |

Edmundo, is this going to take years? I just saw a program on the deciphering of the Maya language, and I don't know if I'm ready for that kind of commitment...but it is for backstory (and I'm all about the backstory), so I guess it must be done! For the backstory! [grabs {as in me} the closest fire extinguisher {it's really close} and shakes it in the air] [scratch that, I'll shake my fist , though, so you know I mean it]

The Gold line kinda looks like Nobonoux or Nobonohx (dot) Yfpo
ADDITION* Are you sure we have enough information? I've never tried deciphering anything, but i'm not sure we know enough to actually get started. Please forgive me if i'm wrong >_<. |

I see it is indeed way too difficult.
Researching more about it, the methods that have been tested here are very good, but I need to provide more information. A million points for everyone! sorry for not making sure it was easyer before posting the challenge... Now here is a helpful hint: The shape of the symbols in the golems alphabet are not arbitrary. Each symbol represents something. Remember those books that taught you how to read where the "A" was next to a big picture of an "Apple" so you could remember the A sounds "Ahh"pple? Imagine an alphabet where that book would not have a big A on one side and an apple on the other, but it would only have a simplified picture of the apple, so you could think of the objects/sounds instead of letters. Maybe this is enough to start figuring out the puzzle. Keep in mind that the Golem alphabet "drawings" or "symbols" can be very abstract versions of the original shape they represent (as it happens with alphabets in real wold too). |

I was already thinking of Egyptian hieroglyphs when I saw this.
I have the text on the throne before me. The first symbol on the second row looks like an ear to me. The dots could be spaces. The fifth symbol on the second row could be a tree, but it looks a lot like the second-to-last symbol of the first row. I think the square on the second row could be a door. There is something in the sixth row that looks like a bird. I also see a combination of a circle and triangle. In some places the circle is above, in others it's below. Anyone else think they recognise something? |

My first reaction to this is that it's a poem of somesort, but it's just a hunch...
anyways, lets Cypher! (If the text has anything to do with earthly languages the first four letters seem to spell alah, no?) -------------------- Random scribbler and dubious madman.
