I need to fix the colour of the spit trail for the crab to blue, and therefore I need to know where it is located.
This is a picture which shows why I need to change the trail colour...:

The colors of the trail are not located in a texture. They are assigned through the particle editor.

How do I change them then?
BTW: I have made further progress on theirs skin, they are now "Ice Crabs", the only thing i need to change before releasing them is the colour on it's trail....

Nice skins ^^ The particles are edited through code? Hmm, I never thought of that.

I think you cannot. We cannot redistribute the particle editing tool.

It's part of Valve's licensee tools. We cannot distribute everything.

Has the particle format changed? If it hasn't you could always use the Particle Editor available in Half-Life 2 Episode Two/Portal/Team Fortress 2.

I just tried opening zenoclash\zenozik\particles\npc_fx.pcf in Valve've Particle Editor in Portal and seemed to load fine.
I'm not sure about changing the colours, but there's probably some information on the Valve Developer wiki.

If you can find the code they are in, try to find a Valve colour palette to edit the colours.

This could perfectly be a good work-around. It's very possible that it will work, since we haven't changed the particle code at all. Thanks for the info!

I didn't know Portal had distributed the particle editor. Nice to know! We didn't change the particle editor so it's very possible you can edit ZC particles.

The crab spit trail FX is in npc_fx.pcf (nice find! wink.gif). To change the trail and spit colors one would have to go to 'Initializer' (under the properties dropdown) and edit the 'Color Random' attributes (color1 & color2).

Perform color changes for all these Particle System Definitions:

crab_goop
crab_goop2
crab_goop3
crab_goop4
crab_spit
crab_spit2
crab_spit3
