Just a tiny bit more of hints...
-I can say that there have been at least two correct guesses. -Remember the symbols represent sounds, not necessarily letters. -And there are also about two correct guesses in the Steam forums http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/show...d=1#post9874502 deloctyte: mini extra hint, alah is not the first word, and is not written anywere at all |

Notice that there are words that repeat a few times during the text, asuming the dots are spaces.
The words circled in green are the same except for the last letter, which means they sound ALMOST the same. The ones circled in brown are the same characters, but swapped. The lonely light blue circled 'b' like symbol is obviously a single sound. 'A' is the only word in english I can think of, that could make sense. ![]() Cuando se traduce, el texto está en español o inglés? |

I whipped up a handy chart that lists all symbols that appear in the text, as well as the number of times each symbol appears.
![]() I also gave each of the symbols an arbitrary name so they can be discussed easily. |

The lone Gamma may be the key to figuring a great deal out. If we can find its sound, as it is prevalent all about the inscription, we should be able to understand a great amount. Assuming the dots ARE spaces, of course. That is the only hint I desire, for if we base our entire operation on that and it is false, we're in a spot of trouble.
The Gamma could be, as far as letters: 'a' with the 'uh' sound. [As in the first letter of 'attack'] 'a' with the 'ey' sound. [As in 'hay'] 'I' with the 'aye' sound. [As in 'tried'] 'I' with the 'ih' sound. [As in 'in'] As far as sounds: Uh [Attack] Ey [Hay] Aye [Die] Ih [In] Eh [Effort] Gah [Gallop] That is all I can think of. I'm guessing that the Gamma is one of the first three. -------------------- Zeno Clash is remarkable. ...remarkable is an odd word. 'Remark' 'able'. We take it to mean 'great' or 'fabulous', but all the word means is that the noun it describes can be remarked upon. What is those are BAD remarks? ... Sometimes I have trouble sleeping at night.

Also, Alpha likely cannot be an 'e' sound, as it begins many words, and few words begin with an 'e' sound.
E sounds: Eh [Elephant] Ee [Evil] Air [Error] These sounds couldn't comprise the beginnings of so many words, so are doubtful. 'Air' is immediately capable of being dispatched, as it is too specific to work. 'Ee' might work, but I have great doubt. 'Eh' could work, but it seems unlikely. I'm not sure of anything, but I do not believe an 'e' sound is represented by Alpha. The other vowel noises... U Uh [Ugly] You [Uranium] Y Aye [Try] Ee [Silly] A Aw [Automated] Ah [Adamant] Uh [Attack] I Ih [Insect] Aye [Hi] O Aw [Octapus] Oh [Slow] Of all those, I feel that 'Aw', 'Ah', and 'Uh' are the most likely sounds for Alpha, of the vowels. -------------------- Zeno Clash is remarkable. ...remarkable is an odd word. One thing I noticed is that in the first line of the third, uh, stanza there is both the word "Zeta-Alpha" and "Alpha-Zeta"
So if we can look for words that are comprised of two sounds, and are reversible in their pronunciation, we could figure out what those words are. If we can work out which ones the vowel sounds are, this'll become a lot easier. |

I just wanted to add sharpened version of the existing chart, because I saw some symbols are too hard to interpret with those thick black lines.
![]() notice the . sign is missing, because it is just a space and a useless bonus: ![]() The "Sh" sound! |

So I think there's a consensus, Alpha pretty much has to be a long e "(ee)" sound.
Going from there, Zeta either has to make a "T" or an "S" sound. Those are the only two that work with the two reversible words in first line in the third stanza. |

Oh, and because I think that the more people who work on it the faster I'm going to get The Escapist community on this as well.
P.S. Sadly their server is down so I can't make a thread for this yet, but I will soon. |

Just a little something regarding Xi and Upsilon, those pictograms could represent some more abstract concepts, such as Xi could represent "Above" (so Ab maybe? Ah?) and Upsilon could represent "Below" (Beh? Buh? Bel?).
El edito: Just as I notice LTK's post, which basically says the same things, but days earlier. Sooo I agree with him! Also Tau looks like a stick-figure bird, but it could also mean fly or flight, possibly even sky. Although judging by the "sh" example, a stick figure bird might be a too simple interpretation. Zeta does look like a tree, but also it could represent one of the trees in the desert, which are very tall, might equate to a "tah" sound rather than a "t" or "tr" sound. |
