Hello, ACE Team!

Due to a problem with my Xbox Account I hadnīt been able to play the game until recently.
Just wanted to tell you, as everyone else, that the game is awesome, original, and deserving of all the awards. tongue.gif

Anyway, just needed to ask something:

1) Do the updates work only on PC or also on consoles?

I had read about an update which included stat modifiers for "obstacle units", to make them stronger and more useful. Even so, I still find them kind of weak when attempting to slow the opponentīs rock. I also donīt know where to find the Halloween and Christmas updates.

I need to know if the updates you created were transferred to XBLA or were only for PC.

Thank you and keep on rockinī!

Lucius (Gabriel).-

Unfortunately the changes have only been applied to the PC version. Adding updates for the Xbox build is more complex and less straightforward, so this hasn't happened. sad.gif

Oh. ohmy.gif wink.gif Well, the game is still playable and awesome anyway. smile.gif

Two more questions (related to PC version):

1) Is there any method (like a command screen) to change game functionality? (specially "no_clip" as I would like to free the camera for video-making, etc)

2) Do all versions look and work the same? Or does the PC version work with more graphic and behind-the-scenes power due to console limitations?

Thanks!

Lucius Wrath.-

I don't think you can enable the console on the released version. And I can't recall any developer commands that enabled such functions.

The versions are very similar. There are minor compromises we had to do to for the consoles. As for resolution the PC wins for obvious reasons. I don't think you could identify any differences between your XBox and PC version.

So, there are currently no patches for the Xbox version and no patches are planned?

What about all the bug fixes and balance changes you have made to the PC version? It seems kind of silly to pay for this game if I know that you are not going to fix/improve it ever.

That & the fact devs have to pay M$ $40,000 to test & approve the patch, just be honest about it, ACE.

I'm assuming this is coming from the recent news that Fez isn't getting patched. I'm not sure where you are getting that number from, but it does not reflect our reality. I cannot speak for their case but I can say for sure that updating Rock of Ages for XBLA would not require a 40k payment to Microsoft.

Updating the game would require us to resubmit for certification, and that is a much more involved and time demanding process that with the PC game.

From Fez & the fact that Tim Schafer quoted the same amount as well.

We can't say what kind of terms other companies are establishing with Microsoft, but the scenario you mention would not be the case had we decided to update the game.
