I wanna start with thanking Ace Team for making this game! And on top of that it looks like we dont need to wait for years for it to be released! Simply amazing!
I understand that everything is in development and far from finished but here are a few points I'd like to talk about; I think the characters need some new clothes/equipment or atleast a few polishes to their old clothing. I see that Rimat has changed some clothes and that looks good, but maybe her hat needs a remake. Also Rimat's new voice is pretty bad :s .. I also think I spotted some changes on Ghat's clothing so you guys probably are already doing this ^^ .. Will the game be open-world as in going in and out of Halstedom and into the wilderness whenever you want without linear level progression? If so I hope there won't be too many walls and hills cutting the areas too small Also I can see that you guys have updated the graphics, even heard you got a new engine going. Amazing! I hope we will get to meet more neutral monsters this time around Also will it be more RPG oriented? As in leveling up or maybe learning new fighiting techniques? Will there be currency and equipment? Or will it stay like the last game? Will there be jumping in the game? Could add a whole new dimension of both combat, exploration and level deisgn. Cheers ACE! You guys are amazing! |

Will the game be open-world as in going in and out of Halstedom and into the wilderness whenever you want without linear level progression? If so I hope there won't be too many walls and hills cutting the areas too small The game is not based on a linear set of levels like in the first game. You can go in and out of Halstedom into different and varied locations, but don't expect huge open areas as large as Stalker/Elderscrolls games. We're obviously still a pretty small studio compared to those. But, with that said: There are a couple of environments that are probably larger than all the walk-able areas of Zeno Clash 1 combined. The size of environments is huge compared to the first. Just to give you an idea: The game has a world map now. Also will it be more RPG oriented? As in leveling up or maybe learning new fighiting techniques? Will there be currency and equipment? Or will it stay like the last game? We're still not talking about the RPG elements... so patience. But you will acquire new powers/items. Will there be jumping in the game? Could add a whole new dimension of both combat, exploration and level deisgn. No jump key... bunny hopping in Zenozoik is not allowed. |

Will it be a fully open world where we will be free to visit all of the areas whenever we want (excluding places that need to visited at a certain point in the story, of course) or will it be something a little more like The Witcher or Deus Ex where we progress through several different large areas as chapters in the story? |

The game has a map with the different areas and we're looking now at options for fast-travel. It isn't like the Witcher or Deus Ex where the game moves you to large areas as chapters in the story. Note: The game isn't like an Elderscrolls game where you move through a seamless world. We have areas that are interconnected (A bit like in a Zelda Game). You have entries and exits in these areas. |

So does it have a small "area" loaded at one given time, and if you want to go to another area, you can follow a certain path?

So does it have a small "area" loaded at one given time, and if you want to go to another area, you can follow a certain path? The areas aren't necessarily small - some can be quite large. But yes, you basically play on a loaded area which may have a couple or more exits and you can choose where to go if you have the necessary prerequisites to visit that level. |

Here are my questions:
1. There were only two hunting segments in the last game. Will there be more of it or quests on it in the second game? 2. Will there be a hunger/thirst/sleep system involved? Survival mode would be a fun element 3. Will ammo requirements be implemented or will it be infinite ammo like last game? 4. Will we see the Corwids again? 5. Join-able factions? 6. Will there be other companions besides Rimat/Father Mother? 7. Currency? 8. Vehicles/ Mounts? 9. Magic? I saw some spell being used in the "Zenozoik" trailer. 10. Will there be armor or changeable clothing? That's all |

1. There were only two hunting segments in the last game. Will there be more of it or quests on it in the second game? We have to design several side quests, and we'll probably want to make interesting missions. I can't say if any of the more unimportant quests will be hunting, but it's a possibility. Still too early to say. 2. Will there be a hunger/thirst/sleep system involved? Survival mode would be a fun element No hunger, thirst or sleep. Those things are more typical of a more hardcore RPG system, and we're aiming for RPG elements that blend more properly with an action/adventure title. 3. Will ammo requirements be implemented or will it be infinite ammo like last game? Ammo will be limited this time, so weapons will be more effective. 4. Will we see the Corwids again? Absolutely! 5. Join-able factions? Mmmm, sort of. We're implementing a cool "alley system", but I don't want to get into details yet. 6. Will there be other companions besides Rimat/Father Mother? Alley system 7. Currency? Yes, there will be sort of system that involves trading, but I also don't want to discuss specifics yet since this is still in design process. 8. Vehicles/ Mounts? Unfortunately not. We really wanted to have something like this, but ultimately decided it was out of scope for this game. 9. Magic? I saw some spell being used in the "Zenozoik" trailer. Sort of. There's no magic in the fiction of our world, but you will get to use gadgets that produce some really cool effects. 10. Will there be armor or changeable clothing? No. Armor doesn't seem very fit in Zenozoik's universe. Maybe alternative costumes as post-release updates? Not sure yet |

Zenozoik seems like a world where you'd need to be self reliant. 12. Will we learn more about Zenozoik's lore? It seems like a slightly post-apocalyptic world with all the scrap metal used in weaponry. 13. Will we get to meet or learn more about Golem's creators? 14. In the last game, Ghat needed the barkeeper to translate Entelo's growls and snarls. Will there possibly be a "Translator companion" that can help you unlock more quests from non-english speaking characters? 15.Will there be any other cities besides Halstedom? |

11. Will crafting be involved? Zenozoik seems like a world where you'd need to be self reliant. As Andres mentioned before; this is more of an action adventure with RPG elements rather than hardcore RPG. So in terms of interactivity, think of a game like Zelda where you acquire powerups/items and level up, but isn't as "RPG intensive" as the Witcher, etc. (No crafting) 12. Will we learn more about Zenozoik's lore? It seems like a slightly post-apocalyptic world with all the scrap metal used in weaponry. Yes. 13. Will we get to meet or learn more about Golem's creators? I cannot give any specifics, but you get to learn a lot more about Golem and his story. 14. In the last game, Ghat needed the barkeeper to translate Entelo's growls and snarls. Will there possibly be a "Translator companion" that can help you unlock more quests from non-english speaking characters? We don't have that... but it would be cool. Maybe I'll think of it for a side quest. 15.Will there be any other cities besides Halstedom? There are other populated areas... but I cannot say more about this yet. |

I only have a couple more and I promise I'll try to hold back for a while. 16. Will Ghat's alleged "Mother" from the small camp near the coast make a comeback? 17. Will "Dead" characters stay dead in this game? They made quite a few returns in the last. 18. Different types of skull-bombs? (i.e. smoke, flash, fire, confuse, etc.) 19. in some pre-alpha gameplay I saw Ghat's brothers and Sisters attacking him. What's the reason for their hostilities wen they now know the truth? |

Thank you guys SO much for answering my questions! I only have a couple more and I promise I'll try to hold back for a while. Fire away with the questions... that's what these forums are here for. We obviously cannot answer anything... but we're glad to answer what we can. 16. Will Ghat's alleged "Mother" from the small camp near the coast make a comeback? Adding spoiler tags for those who haven't played ZC1... In the first game this woman isn't Ghat's real mother, (though she could have been - it is ok to assume this given how the game leaves many questions unresolved). When Ghat sees this scene, he immediately knows that this woman's baby was taken by FM, because he knows the secret... but that doesn't mean she is his mother. 17. Will "Dead" characters stay dead in this game? They made quite a few returns in the last. In ZC1, when you fight enemies and defeat them, you are only KO'ing them. You don't kill anyone in the fist fights. The only two real deaths of ZC1 are Metamoq and Oxameter. Not even the assassin gets killed by Golem. 18. Different types of skull-bombs? (i.e. smoke, flash, fire, confuse, etc.) Maybe 19. in some pre-alpha gameplay I saw Ghat's brothers and Sisters attacking him. What's the reason for their hostilities wen they now know the truth? The pre-alpha was basically made to show-off the combat in the game and we put some enemies in a nice looking location, but this wasn't a real game scenario. So don't take this for part of the final game. Gastornis, Onpa, Henae and Pott were all in the E3 demo, but they were just being used as regular enemies to show off the combat. |

Hay bros! Howdy ho!
Anyways. I have a sort of a follow up question to this one: QUOTE (scifidude47 @ Jun 22 2012, 08:14 AM) * 10. Will there be armor or changeable clothing? No. Armor doesn't seem very fit in Zenozoik's universe. Maybe alternative costumes as post-release updates? Not sure yet smile.gif Okay so, you know how everything seems to be scavenged from the world? Well why not hide and sell clothing bits at stores and around the world? You would make Ghat and Rimat more customizable. I think it would really add to the post-apocolyptic atmosphere! Horns, Masks, eye accessories such as paint and goggles, piercings, tattoos, awesome bandages, scars, I could go on for a bit! Anyways this is just an idea I wanted to share! What do the bros think? |

Accessories are indeed cool, and I think it would add a nice touch, but we're pretty busy with more relevant features at the time, so small things like this might get added later in development if we have the time. Anyways - I do foresee us updating the game with extra content, so things like this might get added post release... |

Totally agree with OP on Rimat's new voice, and the netural monsters bit!
Gotta admit that I'm glad to see from the developers' replies that nothing overly RPG-y will be added to the gameplay. I thought the style of play that Zeno Clash (1) had was pretty refreshing. I do like Akashic's idea on little customizable features -- It would def be an awesome DLC release tho, like Carlos said it could be. -------------------- |

Battle - it's most important part of the game (maybe, after a story). So, I have some ideas and i hope you'll consider them. And sorry for my english.
1) Using a two weapons in same time, like in Skyrim. Also, I think it will be interesting to using a melee weapon AND firearms/small arms. For example, fish gun in left hand and bone club in right hand. 2) Using stones, boards, chairs, etc as weapon 3) Snatching weapon from enemies hands. 4) Repair of broken weapon. 5) Sharpening of cold steel. 6)Climb on very big enemy. 7)If you captured enemy, you can break some his bones (Arm, for example. And he can't using this arm after that), throw him, beat him etc. |

I know that this may sound a bit silly, but I was just wandering if the entelodont females will keep their extra "endowment" they had in the first game, since it isn't clear in any of the trailers.
And will there be any other new races with similar anatomical "diversities" in the new game? Since I find that adding that kind of diversity is a very bold move for a video game. (Also, I have a bit of a multibreast fetish) |
