Alright...I've played through this game a few times now and recently, I had an Idea when I was fighting those "statues" or "shadows". They are/were an advanced ancient civilization that has been all around Zenozoik, and therefor knew about the entire world and things OUTSIDE Halstedom(as opposed to its citizens). Golem is the last of them. And by "ending it all" he meant educating the citizens of Halstedom about the outside world. The Rubik's Cube is a sign of the fact that they were far ahead of their time, and so was the electricity at the end of the world.
How I got this Idea:
Golem has all that armor on his back, which was probably a regular outfit in that civilization and I recall seeing similar armor on those statues.

Devs, please tell me that I am on to something here, or that I am at least HALF right.
Postscript:Tell my why Golem is a voodoo doll tongue.gif

Yeah Carlos hinted at that. If Golem plans on uniting everyone then there would be no more violence within the family amirite? Isn't that dangerous? Like if a Corwid caught someone, or if someone in the family took advantage of it? Maybe thats why the ancients put Golem back to sleep, because it was too dangerous to have everyone connected in that way. The temple Golem is found in is decorated with golden statues of his likeness though. He could have been worshiped too. Demons and God(s) can gain power from prayers ( Demons can gain power from idols such as the golden calf or just by being worshiped) and perhaps he became too powerful or something. Maybe Golem and the giant thing want the power back. Oh and the big statue could be imprisoned somewhere and all he can do is watch and tell Golem what to do.

Golem said that he would show everyone where their family is, but is he really that nice? Does he expect something in return?

EDIT* Golem is the only one able to hurt others through himself.

My guess is that Golem is some kind of demi-god: half human, and half god, the one we see in the end credits. Maybe his line "No Ghat, there isn't anything left there." was a lie and his father-god has a place there. Or his home could be high above the shadow realm, which is how he can see what happens in Halstedom.

As for the voodoo-powers, that's probably by being something god-y. Maybe he can turn invisible too, we never knew exactly how he snuck up on the Hunter. Superhuman strength is a given too. How else could he pull open a massive stone gate and mash the Hunter's skull to a pulp? (I mean, damn. That was his brain making that noise.)

As for helping the Family, he did say he obeyed to ideals, and he might consider helping them as his duty.
