Alright...I've played through this game a few times now and recently, I had an Idea when I was fighting those "statues" or "shadows". They are/were an advanced ancient civilization that has been all around Zenozoik, and therefor knew about the entire world and things OUTSIDE Halstedom(as opposed to its citizens). Golem is the last of them. And by "ending it all" he meant educating the citizens of Halstedom about the outside world. The Rubik's Cube is a sign of the fact that they were far ahead of their time, and so was the electricity at the end of the world.
How I got this Idea: Golem has all that armor on his back, which was probably a regular outfit in that civilization and I recall seeing similar armor on those statues. Devs, please tell me that I am on to something here, or that I am at least HALF right. Postscript:Tell my why Golem is a voodoo doll -------------------- ![]() "Thehehehhehe!" -Animasta "GREABSLADSBAEWNME!" -Gastornis,charging into an elbow, head first. |

Golem is the most unique character, in my limited perspective. Undeniably the most pivotal character in the game's story, he is different than every other being within Zenozoik.
I'll use bits of my poor memory on his dialogue to inquire certain points and address what is posted above. I love what is told here of the shared injury Golem creates, how when he is slashed by the Hunter both Ghat and the girl person [who I hate as a character] share the blow. I think it is entirely rational that his meaning of 'linking them in a way they couldn't imagine' meant that he would bind them all together in the way he, Ghat, the girl, and Father Mother are bound at the end. This would partially explain his contempt for the Corwid of the Free, as placing them in the threshold of such a bond would be impossible due to their lack of logical thinking and care for reality. They would be capable of ruining the bond. A further testiment to this is the Rubix Cube. When you think about how the Rubix Cube functions, when one side is turned, the other sides react. When you alter it through one algorithm [sequence of turns] the rest of the cube is shaken and altered. The Rubix Cube is symbolic of the society Golem is striving to create, one where everyone is 'connected in a bond deeper' than what they previously felt. Using the symbolism of the Rubix Cube, he means to bind them as a society into one whole. But the Rubix Cube does not function in the way where turning one side turns EVERY side. Hence, the society will surely not be a perfect whole, but connected deeply with individual groups tied directly together. The game hints at this as well when Golem says, "This is a problem." This line is said when Father Mother is almost killed, and expresses his concern to the link he is building within the family being broken. It is also perhaps an allusion to his worries that the internal strife between Ghat and Father Mother [Son and Father?] will prevail and hurt the 'link'. All speculation and ranting, but all the same, perhaps there is something valuable to be found within my ramblings. Eh, I'll not continue with my inane conclusions and arguments. They're all likely wrong in any case. -------------------- Zeno Clash is remarkable. ...remarkable is an odd word. 'Remark' 'able'. We take it to mean 'great' or 'fabulous', but all the word means is that the noun it describes can be remarked upon. What is those are BAD remarks? ... Sometimes I have trouble sleeping at night.
