ZC Development Team,
My name is currently Jake Babineau and I'm heading up a small development team enrolled in a Game Design and Simulation college program. I'm not here to try painting this miraculous image of myself for employment, but rather specifically to ask some important development questions. I can understand if you would be wary of releasing any particular information regarding the tweaks to the engine that you've made, but I figured this would be the best place to start. Now that we're through introductions, our team is also in the process of trying to MOD the Source Engine to implement melee combat. We're in the beginning stages having just created our first weapon and should have skins applied by the end of this week so that we can start testing and tweaking. Ideally, we'd like to learn more about some of the process involved with coding or hammer that was used in the development of ZC and its unique combat functionality. We're playing with the concept of using triggers to track a swing counter, which would allow for opening up combo options based on a small fraction of time allotted in between each attack. But, we could really use some help from the pro's when it comes to manipulating things in an easier fashion. If the honest answer is to simply purchase your SDK, then so be it, but I figured I'd attack at the source first as speaking to the actual team is much more enlightening. If you're not comfortable posting specific information about your coding and scripts, then feel free to email me at jakebabineau@yahoo.com. Sincerely, Jake Babineau, PM and Lead Designer of Fundamental Progression |
