Hi devs,
i just bought your game on steam and i'm very eager to play it, but it crashes everytime the first video is played (after starting a new game). The game main menu loads up fine, but after 5-10 seconds into the intro the PC locks up, more often than not followed by a automatic reboot. I run Windows Xp pro on Athlon 64 X2 3800+, 2GB RAM, ATI X1950pro. All drivers are the most recent ones. All other source games run fine (Half Life 2 + ep1 + ep2); non-source games (Wolfenstein etc) too. Any helpful ideas? Urquell |

This thread has two suggested fixes you might want to try out.
Try reading through the official Zeno Clash Bugs thread topic also. If you want to follow-up discussion of your problem it is best to do it there. |

Crash problem fixed
Open regedit and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management Double click on "PagedPoolSize". Hexadecimal is listed first. Change the "Value Data" to one of these below: (Note: You only need to enter EITHER Hexadecimal or Decimal. They both are the same.) Megabytes Hexadecimal or Decimal 256Mb 10000000 or 268435456 384Mb 18000000 or 402653184 512Mb 20000000 or 536870912 You can experiment which value works best; 512Mb did it for me. Been playing now for three hours with no crashes whatsoever. This also affects Half Life Episode 2 (and possibly other source 2007 games) which also crashed frequently but not anymore. It seems to be a resource conflict between the source engine and various other programs (especially virusscanners like NOD32 which i have, and AVG). Also setting a fixed size for the system paging file (double RAM) seems to improve stability in some cases. I did both. Mine graphics card is still capable of running this game with acceptable framerates at 1680x1050 with all settings maxed out, so no complaints here |

Too many people getting stuck at that spot... so we're making that fight a tad easier for ZC:UE. Awesome. Can't wait for it. -------------------- Tally ho!
