me and my friends think a multie player mode would be awesome.

that you can fight side by side with other players online.
or kick each others buts in an arena battle.

thanks for reading, and i hope there come more updates cause it's still the best fantesy hand to hand combat game i ever seen. biggrin.gif

A multiplayer mode would take quite a lot more work than this DLC. Can't say for sure if we could do that.

Could you get a bit into the details?

Is map creation (+ some scripting for modes like capture the flag etc) the main issue, or is it more fundamental like having to create a lot of network code and such?

There are a lot of implications... ex: AI must be able to fight 2 opponents. The player has to be fully re-animated from 3rd person (the animations look nice in 1st person but horrendous in 3rd person). Netcode... etc...

Reanimating all the models in 3rd person sounds like it would be difficult with the variety of attacks already in the game.

The only team that have been able to pull off a first-person melee game in Source (effectively) is the Pirates, Vikings, and Knights mod team. Although Zeno Clash is paced faster and would most likely be difficult to replicate something as accurate.

I'm indifferent of the inclusion of some form of multiplayer in Zeno Clash 2. I think it would help Sales sure, but I don't think the ends justify the means (too much development time, funding, etc.). As Carlos pointed out the Netcode on the Source engine would make the expericence frustrating, if they switch engines that might mitigate some of the issues. I have always thought Zeno Clash was envisioned to be a single player experience, and changing that at this point would only detract from Zeno Clash 2 (which may or may not have multiplayer).

You have to understand ACE that now people know your capabilities, people can expect you to do multiplayer.

We are kind of playing BETA multiplayer..:

As far as multiplayer goes I wouldn't expect that to be DLC, in fact, you could sell it as a separate Zenoclash title. Call it Zenoclash (insert name implying multiplayer), somewhat like Mount&Blade Warband.
I'd be willing to buy it at the same price as Zenoclash single player, you could bundle them together for a slight discount and further your game sales exponentially.

I love Zenoclash and have always wished I could do multiplayer with some friends.

As for your own personal interest multiplayer games unfortunately kill single player game sales...

I would name it "Zenozoik Battles" or something to that effect.
